From: The Chairman of Governors

4th December 2006

Dear Parents

I am writing to inform you that Ratcliffe College has become a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee from 1st September 2006.

This is an important moment in the history of the College. The old Trust Deeds went back to the year 1923, and it was felt that some adjustments were required in view of existing legislation and modern conditions.

The formation of the new Charitable Company has not affected in any way the rights and duties of parents, staff and students. It has provided, instead, a further opportunity for the members of the governing body to renew their total commitment to the highest standard of education for your children, the kind you have been accustomed to over the years.

With the setting up of the new Company, a new Board of Governors has been appointed by the Trustees to conduct the College on their behalf. I am sure you will wish to join me in expressing my most sincere thanks to some of the members of the old board who are no longer with us, for their sterling work at the service of Ratcliffe over a long period of time, and at the same time to welcome all the new members.

There is a freshness and vibrancy at Ratcliffe, energized through strong leadership and the commitment and hard work of the staff. Rooted in its Catholic traditions, Ratcliffe offers a balanced all-round high quality education. It now has over 630 pupils (the highest roll to date), a new VIth Form Centre, and constantly improving educational standards, as evidenced in last year?s excellent examination results, and well maintained buildings and grounds; and for all this I wish to thank the Headmaster and all the teaching and support staff for their hard work and dedication. We are proud of our school and what it stands for, and we are committed to furthering the good of the school.

I wish to communicate to you the full list of names of persons that constitute the structure of the new Company:

Fr. Ted Mullen, Provincial: Honorary President of the Company

Trustees and Directors:

Fr. Antonio Belsito, chairman
Bro. Nigel Cave
Fr. Brian Cuddihy
Fr. Kit Cunningham
Mr. Richard Gamble
Fr. Philip Sainter

Mrs. Mary Espinasse
Mr. Richard Gamble
Mrs. Mary Goldstraw
Dr. David Jolliffe

I am sure you will join me in wishing the new Charitable Company every success in the years ahead. We trust that the Almighty God will guide us as He has done since the foundation of this Rosminian charitable work.

Yours sincerely,

Fr. Philip Sainter
Chairman of Governors
