Apprentice Estates and Facilities Assistant

Salary – £6.83 per hour (£13,319 per annum)

8am – 4.30pm over 5 days

18 months contract

This is a new post and an exciting opportunity to gain experience in Estates and Facilities.  The successful candidate will support the Estates and Maintenance Team ensuring compliance with health and safety, other legislation and organisational policies and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out inspections of premises and facilities to ensure the correct functioning of buildings and plant equipment
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance or ensure that they have been carried out in accordance with SOPs
  • Keep asset registers up to date
  • Updating the College’s computer added facilities management system.
  • Setting up for College events i.e. setting up chairs and tables in exam rooms

You will need to:

  • Have attention to detail, follow basic instructions well
  • Strong work ethic, punctual manner
  • Can use own initiative to resolve issues and know when to seek support from colleagues within the team.
  • Works well within a team environment, you will work alongside other members of staff, so this is very important

As a part of the apprenticeship the successful applicant will work with our training provider Hospitality Industry Training (HIT) to attain their level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services Principles.

Ratcliffe College is a successful independent school with an extensive range of facilities including a grade 2 listed building.  Sports facilities include sports halls, swimming pool, full size fitness suite, synthetic running track, Astro pitches and netball/tennis courts as well.
