Ratcliffe College Celebrates Outstanding Anti-Bullying Feedback
Ratcliffe College is delighted to announce that our Anti-Bullying Policy has been independently assessed by Leicestershire County Council as achieving a perfect score of forty marks out of forty. This outstanding result reflects our commitment to creating a safe, supportive and respectful environment for every student across the entire campus from Cygnets to the Sixth Form, with the Student Anti-Bullying Statement at the heart of what we do.
Over the past year we have strengthened our Anti-Bullying Policy to ensure a consistent and age-appropriate approach throughout the College. This work has included student voice projects on friendship, staff training, and visible awareness campaigns, including the impressive student-produced Anti-Bullying t-shirts that Senior School teachers have proudly worn around school this week to promote the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s Power of Good campaign. We are pleased to be working towards Leicestershire County Council’s Beyond Bullying Award.
Celebration of the Word assemblies in the Senior School, led by the Anti-Bullying Committee, and in the Preparatory School, led by Year Six, have also offered excellent reflections on kindness, respect and the courage to speak up, highlighting the shared values that unite our community. This message is also captured in this week’s Ratcliffe Roundup podcast, hosted by three of our Student Listeners who discuss their important role.
Deputy Head Pastoral, Mr James Rainer, comments:
“We are deeply proud of our students, who routinely show courage by sharing their concerns, whether by speaking to a trusted adult or by using our anonymous reporting systems which include online reporting in the Senior School and teacher post-boxes in the Preparatory School. Our pastoral approach remains centred on the wellbeing of every child, and this independent feedback reflects the attentiveness that each of my colleagues show towards the children in our care.”
Anti-Bullying Governor, Fr M Lorence Swamy, comments:
“This is another feather in Ratcliffe's cap, but also a reminder for us to become better day-by-day.”
