Old Ratcliffians celebrate Trent Bridge partnership

Ratcliffe College has always encouraged big ideas and we are always incredibly proud when the seed of an idea and a glimmer of talent grows into a full-blown passion, one that can catapult the career of a young person to truly inspirational heights.

One such success story is that of Old Ratcliffians Miles Latham and Tim Cabrelli (2004), who founded Affixxius Films, a multi award winning media production agency based in Loughborough. The same company that started life in a school classroom and now delivers high quality video content for some of the most significant brands across the country and across the world, including Boots, Sony, The NHS, Leicester City Football Club and many more.

This season Miles and Tim really did hit a six, travelling to Nottingham’s Trent Bridge Cricket Ground to celebrate Affixxius becoming official commercial shirt sponsors for Nottingham’s T20 cricket team (and Vitality Blast T20 Champions) Notts Outlaws.

Miles said: “Since 2012 we have worked on a number of high-impact campaigns with Trent Bridge and the Notts Outlaws, which has been huge source of pride for us. Now, as a commercial partner, we have collaborated on the clubs rebranding and latest kit launch video with Adidas.

He commented: “Seeing the Affixxius logo on the back of the shirts was a huge online and social media hit for us, especially after The Outlaws became T20 champions on finals day.”

This is the perfect combination of the two things Miles and Tim love – video production and cricket – the passion for both of these started on the grounds of Ratcliffe. When they weren’t putting everything they had into creating video content, they were heavily involved playing in the College cricket squads every year.

Michael Temple, Commercial Director at Trent Bridge said: “Our partnership with Affixxius is a great source of pride for everyone at Trent Bridge because we’ve spent ten years now watching each other grow and we all feel entirely invested in the success of each other’s business.”

Ratcliffe College Headmaster, Jon Reddin also visited the team after their successful win and was presented with a Nottingham Outlaws shirt from Miles and Tim, thanking him for the support Ratcliffe provided.

Jon commented: “I am extremely proud of Miles and Tim and it is amazing seeing their business go from strength to strength. Ratcliffe’s ties with Affixxius run deep and these are set to become deeper as we come full circle and look at working together on an innovative school film this Autumn”
