Prep School Sports Report – 11th May
U10 Athletics Meeting v Fairfield
On a beautiful sunny spring evening our U10 athletes took to the track and the surrounding fields to participate in the inaugural athletics meeting with Fairfield Prep. This was the first time our new track had been used in an invitational athletics meeting and the atmosphere was alive with anticipation and excitement.
Every boy and girl who competed on the night had the opportunity to experience the Shot Putt, the Discus, the Long Jump, the 600m and the Sprint events. They also took part in a 4 x 100m baton relay.
Without any doubt the sport of athletics was the winner and seeing the enjoyment and enthusiasm on all of the athlete’s faces was a joy to behold and who knows one day in the future we may see one of these fantastic children crossing the finishing line at an Olympic Games. For those of us who had the privilege of watching them, we will always remember the evening their athletic journey started and their athletic dreams were ignited. A huge well done to all of the boys and girls who represented Ratcliffe Prep so brilliantly.
