Ratcliffe College Cross Country Festival 2018 – Saturday 24th February
On a crisp, sunny and cold Saturday morning just over 300 young athletes descended on Ratcliffe College to compete and run in the annual Ratcliffe College Cross Country Event.
As always the races were run over the picturesque College grounds and on such a bright morning with the early morning frost dissipating the grounds were at their very best.
All of the athletes performed brilliantly and ran with smiles on their rosy cheeked faces.
From a Ratcliffe perspective every boy and girl ran their socks off for Ratcliffe with notable performances from Katie Shield who won the Year 4 girls race, the Year 6 Girls and Boys who both won the team event in their respective races with great runs from Isabella Westwood 2nd, Sophie Bardsley 3rd and Francesca Best 9th helping the girls and Finlay Martin 4th, Jonah Walker 6th and Sam Leake 7th helping the boys. Medallists in the other age groups were Charlotte Shield, Jack Turnbull and Tomas Mason in Year 5, Jessica Tuckwell, Lucy Markham and Casper Webster in Year 3.
A huge well done to all our Ratcliffe Runners who completed the course.
Thanks to our fabulous Groundstaff, Catering, Medical and Maintenence team, The PA and the Prep School Staff for all their help in making the morning such a valuable and enjoyable experience for all of the children who participated.
