Ratcliffe College Statement following the death of Her Majesty The Queen

All School News | 09.09.2022

On behalf of Ratcliffe College community, we would like to express our sincerest condolences on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

We are deeply saddened by the news and our thoughts are with all members of the Royal Family in this time of national mourning.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II leaves behind a remarkable legacy, having ruled for longer than any other monarch in British history, and her faithful leadership, selfless service and voice of reassurance throughout her seventy-year reign will be remembered by generations.

I know that all our students, members of staff, Governors, Trustees and alumni, will unite in loss, but in celebration, too.  We will continue to follow her example of kindness, resilience and unwavering commitment which she embodied throughout her reign.

The College will consider carefully how to mark this sad occasion as the period of official mourning is announced.  The Senior School will remember Her Majesty The Queen in prayer during our Benefactor’s Mass this morning.  Prayers will be said for The Queen and her family in the Preparatory School and Nursery.  If your child is upset by this news, please contact their class teacher or Tutor in the first instance, so that we can support them.

Yours sincerely,

Mr J. P. Reddin,
Headmaster.
