Virtual Exhibition Week 2020 - Ratcliffe College

Virtual Exhibition Week 2020

All School News | 09.07.2020

Another wonderful year has come to a close at Ratcliffe College as our staff and students say farewell for the summer. This year however, has been rather unique given the challenges everyone has faced in our community and beyond. Normally, our Exhibition Day event provides staff, students and parents with the opportunity to reflect on the year and the many successes and achievements it brought; a lovely way to finish off the school year with a feel-good celebration.

Unfortunately, due to recent outbreak we could not host this event on our campus, however we did create a virtual exhibition week! Each day we released a short video and shared with our parents via the Ratcliffe App and also shared with our wider community on our social media channels.  This page provides a place where you can enjoy all of the videos in one place:

Monday’s video contained a warm welcome message from our Deputy Head Mr Donegan, followed by a musical piece by Richard in year 13, a Catenian Competition entry speech by Olivia in Year 11 and video highlights of our 2019/20 academic year.

Tuesday’s video included a reflection on the school year by Head Boy, Carter in Year 13 and a poem recital by Angelica in Year 9 (‘I would like to be a dot in a painting of Miro’ by Moniza Alvi).

Wednesday’s video featured Head Girl, Eve in Year 13 who gave her reflection. Our guest of honour, explorer and adventurer Laura Bingham also provided a speech, rounding off with a clarinet performance by Ben in Year 7.

Thursday’s video included an address from our Chair of Governors, Mrs Louise Marsden and a series of Drama sketches by Caitlin (Y13), Guy (Y12), Holly (Y10) and Eddie (Y7).

Finally to finish off the week, our last video on Friday included our Headmaster’s address and three George Gershwin piano arrangements performed by Head Girl, Eve in Year 13.

We hope you enjoy watching these videos as much as we did making them and reflecting upon the academic year.
